Music from Ireland

Music from Ireland is a First Music Contact spearheaded project which presents and supports Irish bands at international music festivals including South by Southwest, Canadian Music Week, The Great Escape, Popkomm and CMJ.

Irish bands at SXSW 2011

More than 15 musical acts including Choice Prize nominees James Vincent McMorrow, Halves, Adebisi Shank and O Emperor, The Lost brothers, Ham Sandwich and many more will perform in the annual SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.  The bands are showcasing as part of Music From Ireland’s international programme which is run by First Music Contact in partnership with Culture Ireland and IMRO as part of Imagine Ireland, Culture Ireland’s year of Irish arts in America 2011.

The annual Full Irish Breakfast Party is returning with a great line up on the 18th March while the Irish lead the SXSW showcases on St Patrick’s day in Austin at the Official Music From Ireland showcase.
