Sarah Pierce: I Am Searching for Field Character
SarahPierce An Artwork in the Third Person, 2009
Since 2003 Sarah Pierce (born Connecticut, USA, 1968, lives in Dublin) has used an umbrella term – The Metropolitan Complex – to describe her art practice. Despite its institutional resonance, this title does not signify an organization. Instead, it covers various discursive working methods, involving papers, interviews, archives, talks and exhibitions.
I Am Searching for Field Character
Dublin-based artist Sarah Pierce will participate in I Am Searching for Field Character, an exhibition series of performance, installation, screening and conversation produced by Bureau for Open Culture in conjunction with Susan Cross’s exhibition The Workers. I Am Searching for Field Character will explore the role of labor in North Adams, Massachusetts, as well as larger global contexts. The investigations are organized around themes of ecology, built environment, cultural tourism, education and manufacturing
