Noel Brennan is a Dublin based artist and is the only artist exhibiting in this prestigious exhibition whose work is not based in New York. Irish artist/curator Ross McDonnell, currently living in New York has selected artists Noel Brennan (Ireland), Olafur Eliasson (Iceland) and assisted in the inclusion of Christian Baltanski (France). He has written critical essays for the publication and designed catalogue material that will accompany the exhibition.

Objects of Devotion and Desire: Medieval Relic to Contemporary Art

Curated by Dr Cynthia Hahn with the collaboration of Barbara Boehm, Curator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibition revisits and analyses the psychological power of medieval reliquaries. Objects of Devotion and Desire will demonstrate the pertinence of medieval reliquaries on contemporary sculpture, installation and video art, and performance. The exhibition includes medieval reliquaries from The Metropolitan Museum of Art /Joseph Beuys / Christian Boltanski / Noel Brennan and Olafur Eliasson.
