Emma Donoghue

Emma Donoghue has earned her living as a writer since the age of twenty-three. She has authored eight works of fiction, five literary history books, and drama for the stage and radio; created a short-film; and developed and was featured in her own documentary. Donoghue’s international bestseller novel, Room, was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
Other awards include the Stonewall Book Award, Ferro-Grumley Award for Lesbian Fiction, and the Golden Crown Literary Award. She has taught creative writing for the Cheltenham Literary Festival and the Arvon Foundation, and has been a writer-in-residence at the University of Western Ontario and the University of York. Donoghue is a member of the Society of Authors and the Writer’s Union of Canada. She hails from Dublin, Ireland, and currently resides in Ontario.

Aspen Writers Foundation presents Emma Donoghue

Emma Donoghue, the fiction writer and literary historian whose 10th novel, ROOM, has stormed the Best Books lists, appears on February 23 (5.30pm, doors at 5pm) as part of the Aspen Writers’ Foundation Winter Words literary performance series. Donoghue will give a reading and talk, followed by an audience Q&A and book signing.
